Klondike Derby

Part of the troop made plans and prepared in advance to attend and compete in the Council Klondike Derby event at Andie's Prairie in the Blue Mountains. We made snow caves and lashed a gateway to our campsite with our troop flag and US flag on display. We prepared our meals in the cold and snowy weather and set up tents on the soft snow to sleep in. Even though we followed the things we learned, it was still really cold. We competed in several Scout skill events, including fire building, winter navigation, and pushing our supplies and gear around on our Klondike sled.
